While Rachel’s reviewing Chinatown Coffee, I ventured deeper into the city and made a return trip to Mid City Caffe. The place is bustling this Saturday afternoon with a plethora of young fashionable people.
I’m a bad reviewer and ordered the same thing as last time, latte and spice cake, which are winners yet again. These latte’s are perfect, not too creamy so the coffee shines through, a light bite in the back of your mouth, which is my favorite part. The spice cake tastes the way autumn should with fluffy cream cheese icing. I was hoping to try an everything bagel but as it is 4:30, they were understandably out.
I love this place, lots of room, lots of outlets, friendly staff, great music. I’m picky when it comes to coffee places. I’m usually looking for something very specific when I go. Today, I came to work, I’ve got a fall’s worth of events to plan, so I needed a place I could sink into and concentrate, with just enough background noise to keep me focused. Mid City is certainly fitting the bill… although i’m blogging and not event planning. With that, I’m out!
