Warm evenings on patios are one of life’s great pleasures. And one of my very favorite things to do. Last night I met up with a group of former co workers, who are now great friends at Northside Social, where we ate cheese, drank wine and talked for hours.
Northside Social is the new coffee/ wine bar in Clarendon, owned by the boys who brought you Liberty Tavern. They occupy the building formerly filled by the infamous Murky Coffee, and have transformed it into a bright airy cozy spot that reminds me a good deal of Napa. They sell the typical coffee shop fare, Counter Culture coffee, freshly made backed goods and paninis, as well as more hearty wine bar food, like cheese plates, sausage pairings and salads. Everything is bright and fresh. Their patio is huge, and the nature of the space is lent to lingering for hours, I think we were there last night for over 4 hours catching up.
Anyway, I had an amazing pork belly (my new obsession) and broccoli rabe sandwich that was just perfect. Go try it!
